As you think about organizing your home taking time to dream about the final outcome should be a part of the process. What are you hoping to accomplish? If you own, does your bathroom(s) function the way you and/or your family need? Does it match your esthetic?Maybe your bathroom is functional but outdated, or in great condition but just not your style. Perhaps things are broken or no longer working as intended, or it’s too small and just doesn’t work. Sometimes the only way to get what you need or want is to do a full bathroom remodel.

In this post, I have compiled a list of how much bathroom remodels might cost you based on your state. Please remember there are so many factors involved with remodels, but I have done my best to find the top costs for these remodels. This will give you a general idea of how much you may want to save for the bathroom of your dreams.

If you’re hoping to do a simple partial bathroom remodel with only a new sink and toilet usually these will cost you anywhere from $500 to $3,000 - there are some really fancy toilets out there! Or maybe you want to do the sink, toilet and add new tile for a full half bath remodel, then this will cost you between $3,000 to $10,000. A full bathroom remodel with combined tub and shower plus new everything else will probably be between $5,000 to $15,000. Now the more specialty items you add, the higher the price! Also be prepared that the demo may reveal unforeseen issues which will inevitably add to the cost of your project.

Basically small (full) bathroom remodels generally cost between $2,500 and $15,000 based on what you want done, while a master bathroom remodel can cost between $10,000 and $30,000. But as you’ll see from the list below some bathroom remodels can get as expensive as $100,000 or more depending on finishes, and any structural changes you may want to make.

My advice for a great bathroom remodel is to hire a project manager to make sure things get done properly. Also plan it all up front, and plan to leave money aside as a contingency for surprises, and this is important friends - plan for organization! Do you need a shower niche? Or maybe you’d like to add niches around your vanity? These need to be considered at the beginning of your project. I’d start with your floor plan or layout. Structural changes, such as moving walls and fixtures, will be the first part of the project and nailing the floor plan is crucial to a functional space - if you’d like help please feel free to reach out!

Next move on to either 1. Tile selection or 2. Fixtures. This really boils down to your preference. Want to feel like you’re showing in a fancy hotel? Start with your fixtures and cut costs with an inexpensive tile option or even a sheet option for your shower such as steel. Do you dream of a beautiful tiled vanity wall for some impact? Start with tile and choose more cost effective faucets. The options are endless here so choosing your absolute musts are key to this step. Finally you can move on to your vanity, mirrors and lights as there are a lot of great ways to cut costs on these items if needed. Also never underestimate how a simple wall treatment (in place of tile) can completely change a room’s feel. I know this is a lot to think about, but please feel free to reach out of you’d like to chat about your options!
