My top three tips for organizing your pantry:

TIP 1: LINE YOUR SHELVES. This helps keep things tidy and easy to clean in case of spills.

Clear Ribbed Shelf Liner from The Container Store ( https://www.containerstore.com ) - for ventilated shelves

Solid Easy Liner from The Container Store - for solid shelves

Unscented Shelf + Drawer Liner from The Container Store - for shelves or drawers (duh!)

TIP 2: LABEL EVERYTHING. Some items will stay in their packaging, and in that case, you’ll want to make sure you can store them so you can see the labels. Sometimes though you may choose to switch things like flour or rice to a new container designed to extend its use (see blog post “how to store pantry items”).

You can purchase prepared options like this one from the Etsy ( https://www.Etsy.com ) shop “Paper + Pear Store.”

There are also options that you can erase + use over + over again like these ones from The Container Store - they sell them for food storage, file folders + also a multi purpose pack - stickers + magnetic options available.

Or you can make your own labels with a label maker or a Cricut. I made these labels using my Dymo label maker from Target.

Don’t forget expiration dates! Snag this $2 steal from Target ( https://www.Target.com ).

TIP 3: GROUP ITEMS BY USE. I think this one probably makes sense. By dividing everything into categories you’ll save so much time and money, not only while making dinner, but also while figuring out what you need for meal prep this week, and putting everything away when you get home from the grocery store. Plus you will not over buy things when you can see exactly what you have. Here are some ideas for categories you can use: baking items, cooking items, spices, snacks, drinks or even kid’s snacks. You could create a little drink station so all your coffee or tea supplies are in one place or all the drink options to add to your water!

A smoothies spot with all your supplies in one spot is sure to help you get out the door faster in the morning. While a kid’s snack zone allows your children some autonomy in choosing snacks. You get to choose what goes in the zone while fostering independence and the freedom to grab a snack when they’re hungry.

No matter the size of your space if you follow these three tips it is sure to make a drastic change to your cooking and shopping experience. Now just remember that you will probably need to reorganize from time to time and develop habits to maintain your organization! But getting started is the key!
